“In an era where we are witnessing one of the biggest paradigm shifts in the conceptualization, making, and construction of buildings, FABRICATE celebrates and debates the most cutting-edge innovations in digital fabrication to impact architectural pedagogy, trans-disciplinary research, and applied professional practice in a changing world.”
FABRICATE 2020 was planned for Here East, UCL, in April 2020. Instead it moved online and ran over four days, 9–12 September, hosted by Cornell and broadcast twice a day so it could be followed in every time zone.
Under the theme Making Resilient Architecture, four keynote talks and twenty presentations explored bio-materiality, synthesising design and production, optimisation for a changing world, and polemical performative practice.
