FABRICATE 2011 London

FABRICATE 2011, the inaugural event in the series, was organised and hosted by The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, in London. It sold out, with 375 delegates from around the world, and its Call for Work drew 220 submissions of built or partially built work from 37 countries, from both practice and industry.

After a double-blind peer review, 31 projects were selected for the book, Making Digital Architecture, and 17 presented at the conference. In the exhibition, a mobile robot by Gramazio & Kohler assembled a structure layer by layer in front of visitors, and ScanLAB showed drawings from their 3D scans of The Bartlett Summer Show.
